Looking for a Good Ride

If you've been on the Chesapeake Bay, you know that it's not exactly... flat all of the time. So we get a lot of people asking us which of our Whalers have the best ride in the choppier seas.

Our answer? The Boston Whaler Outrage and Conquest models. Why? These boats offer the deepest deadrise and therefore the smoothest ride if you are looking for big water performance. The deep-V hull, wide beam and standard Mercury Verado power put these Conquest and Outrage models on plane quickly and cut through chop.

The Dauntless models, however, also offer a progressive deep-V for bay and river cruising, recreation and fishing. In fact, now that we think about it, Boston Whalers run very well at any size. The 150 Montauk, at 950 lbs, is very close to the equivalent weight of the classic 17 ft models. This makes this boat easy to tow and the best riding 15' boat on the water.

But perhaps we've digressed a little too much. Our answer to the "Which Whaler has the best ride" question is definitely the Outrage and Conquest. That balance between the deep-V, unmatched stability and predictability are what make Whalers the safest and most comfortable boats on the water. Plus, they are all “The Unsinkable Legend!"
